Women’s Swimming Drops First Dual Meet to No. 6 Williams

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's swimming team fell for the first time in a dual meet this season by coming up on the short end of a 162-100 decision against No. 6 Williams on Saturday afternoon at Lott Natatorium.

Sophomore Maddie Ford (Acton, Mass.) was a bright spot for the Camels by winning two freestyle events. She captured the 100-yard freestyle and 200 free by punching in times of 52.73 seconds and 1:53.58, respectively.

Seniors Maeve Wilber (New Marlborough, Mass.) and Olivia Haskell (Norwalk, Conn.) as well as sophomore Andrea Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) also took first place in an individual event. Wilber won the 100 back in 1:00.30, Haskell was victorious in the 50 free in 24.75, and Higgins achieved the feat by posting a mark of 2:09.76 in the 200 fly.

Connecticut College (2-1) will next travel to Amherst for a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.
