NEW LONDON, Conn. – Newcomers Skylar Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Brooke Scully (Winchester, Mass.) each won singles and doubles matches without surrendering a point to lead the Connecticut College women's tennis team to a 9-0 rout of Albertus Magnus on Friday afternoon.
In addition to securing all nine points in straight sets, the Camels only yielded one point in three doubles matches and two points in one of the singles spots to win in dominating fashion.
Scully captured No. 4 singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-0 and also teamed up with Meredith Kenny (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to earn an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles, while Morgan took down her opponent by the same set scores at No. 6 singles and earned an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles with senior Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.).
Senior Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) was also a double winner for the Camels. She first earned an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, along with freshman teammate Allison Falvey (Wakefield, Mass.), before triumphing at No. 1 singles, 6-0 and 6-0, later in the afternoon.
Connecticut College (1-0) will next host Holy Cross on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 11:00 a.m.
