SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) won singles and doubles matches to help lead the Connecticut College women's tennis team to a convincing 8-1 victory over St. Mary's (Ind.) on Thursday morning at Rio Vista Park.
Migliorini first teamed up with freshman Allison Falvey (Wakefield, Mass.) to post a dominating 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Lillian Chamberlain and Meredith Hackert. She then cruised past Monica Davy in straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
The Camels swept the Belles in singles action. Junior Stephanie Simon (Wellesley, Mass.) registered a lopsided win by identical scores of 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while sophomore Paige Braithwaite (Skillman, N.J.) also easily won in straight sets from the No. 6 spot by marks of 6-4 and 6-2.
Connecticut College (4-2), which has won three matches in a row, will next trek to Abilene to face McMurry on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. CST (2:00 p.m. EST).
