POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Seniors Alexandra Waldman (East Hampton, N.Y.) and Elena Erdekian (Wayland, Mass.) each won three matches to lead the Connecticut College women's tennis team at the Vassar Invitational over the weekend.
Waldman went a perfect 2-0 in singles action, soundly defeating one opponent from New Paltz by identical 6-1 decisions before earning another win in straight sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-0. She also teamed up with sophomore Allison Falvey (Wakefield, Mass.) to earn an 8-2 win over a duo from New Paltz.
Erdekian was also a triple winner by going 2-0 in doubles action along with classmates Hayley Zukerberg (Newton, Mass.) and winning a singles match. The senior pair earned two wins over New Paltz, which included a tight 8-6 triumph in their second match, and Erdekian also cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over an opponent representing NYU.
Connecticut College will next visit Holy Cross for its first dual match of the season on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
