BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Connecticut College women's track & field team placed fifth among nine schools at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Shannon Kennedy (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led the way for the Camels by posting two New England Division III Championship qualifying marks. She placed second in the pentathlon with 2,827 points and most notably punched in a time of 9.78 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
Junior Leila Alfaro (Charleston, S.C.) and sophomore Tarvis Hintlian (Winchester, Mass.) also achieved the feat of qualifying for the New England Division III Championships by registering third-place finishes in their respective events. Alfaro completed the 60 hurdles in 9.72, and Hintlian notched a mark of 3:06.78 in the 1,000.
Furthermore, the 4x200-meter relay team clocked in the third-fastest time in program history. Senior Kaitlin Thomas (Orange, Conn.), freshman Ellie Ebby (Wynnewood, Pa.) and sophomores Riley Peragine (New Milford, Conn.) and Sarah Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) combined for a runner-up time of 1:49.95.
Connecticut College will return to compete at the Wheaton Invitational next weekend.
