WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Senior Sam Hunter (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) registered her third straight double-double in leading the Connecticut College volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday evening at Geissler Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-12.
Hunter notched her fifth double-double of the kill-dig variety this season by finishing with 10 kills and 10 digs. She also hit at a .333 clip. Senior Belinda Mullally (Garden Grove, Calif.) notched eight kills and 10 digs, while sophomore Grace McGee (Portland, Ore.) filled the stat sheet with 30 assists, eight digs, three aces, three kills and two blocks.
Eastern Connecticut State (8-5) was paced by Abby Stern, who concluded the evening with 10 kills and a .258 hitting percentage. Alaetra Long posted eight kills, as the Warriors only hit .011 as a team.
Connecticut College (8-4) returns home to face Amherst in NESCAC action on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m.
