NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College sophomore women's water polo captain Stephania Lopez (Chicago, Ill.) has been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division III All-America Team, as announced by the organization. She earned a place on the second team for the second straight season.
Lopez is being recognized after making the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-Conference Team twice and being named the league's rookie of the year in 2018 as a player who has made an immediate impact with the Camels. She led this year's squad in goals (81), assists (30) and steals (35) and ranked second on the team in field blocks (8). In addition, she was named to the conference's all-tournament squad for the second straight season.
Connecticut College loses just one player to graduation and is expected to return eight letterwinners, including Lopez and two other all-conference players, next season.
