Hunter 75, Connecticut College 64 Shill Tallies 10 Points, Six Assists, Five Boards and Four Steals for Camels

NEW YORK, N.Y.--Taulant Ibraj (New York, N.Y.) netted 15 points to lead the Hunter College men's basketball team to a 75-64 victory against Connecticut College in  a non-conference match up played at the Hunter Sports Plex in New York City Tuesday.

Ben Mayell (Delray Beach, Fla.) and Matthew Hunter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 11 points each and Brian Kruger reached double-digits with 10 points for the winning side.

Connecticut College junior Matt Vadas (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) scored a game-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists in the contest. The reigning NESCAC Player of the Week needs just 42 points to reach the 1000 point barrier.

Freshman Aaron McBurnie (New York, N.Y.) was 6-for-11 from the field and finished with 12 points and nine boards in an impressive outing for the visitors.  Jared Shill (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) netted 10 points to go along with six assists, five rebounds and four steals. Tyrone Turner added nine points and eight boards in the contest.

"We didn't play our best tonight although give Hunter credit for executing well the whole game," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said.  "We left it on the bus a bit mentally to start the game and that's my fault. I need to do a better job getting us ready to play."

Hunter carried a 39-to-27 lead at the break. The Camels out-scored the hosts 37-to-36 to keep it close.
