Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.--Senior Kacie Quick (Winchester, Mass.) scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Connecticut College Camels to 77-68 victory against Albertus Magnus College at Luce Field House Tuesday night.
The Camels improve their record to 3-4 with the victory. The Falcons suffer their first setback of the season, falling to 7-1.
Tara Gabelman (Irvington, N.Y.) chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds for the hosts. Kaitlyn Cresencia (New Providence, N.J.) contributed with 14 points off the bench. Aly Boyle (Westford, Mass.) added seven points and some stellar defensive play.
Albertus Magnus College junior Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) poured in a game-high 30 points to lead the visitors in the setback. Junior guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) chipped in with 22 points. Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) had nine points for the Falcons.
The Camels carried built a 40-24 lead when Jenna Lovett (Tolland, Conn.) converted in the paint with 20 seconds remaining in regulation.
But Lindsay Raynor (Branford, Conn.) assisted Karle for a deuce in the closing moments of the stanza to make it a 40-26 game at the break.
Albertus rallied and took a 63-62 lead when Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) converted on a pair of free throws with 4:37 remaining.
On the ensuing possession with 4:22 left, Quick dropped in a three ball from the top of the key with the assist coming from Willa McKinley (Westport, N.Y.) to make it a 65-63 Camel lead. Cresencia extended the advantage to 67-63 when she finished on a nifty looking bounce pass from Summers with 2:56 remaining.
The Falcons stuck around though and kept it a two possession game when Carrero threaded the needle with a nice look to Karle on a back door cut to make it a 70-65 contest with 1:23 to play.
But the Camels were able to put the game away on the foul line and hold on for the 77-68 triumph.
