Box Score

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connor Brown (Bow, N.H.) had a goal and an assist to lead the Tufts University men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory at Connecticut College Saturday

The Jumbos improved their record to 6-1-3 while remaining undefeated in the NESCAC with a record of 4-0-2.  The Camels fell to 5-6 with a 2-4 mark in conference action.

Connecticut College opened the scoring in the seventh minute of play. Weller Hlinomaz (New York, N.Y.) assisted Kevin O'Brien for a low blast in the middle of the box.

But the visitors scored the next three goals to take control of the contest. Gus Santos (Framingham, Mass.) evened things up at one when he scored off of a long cross from Brown.  Peter Lee-Kramer (Princeton, N.J.) put the visitors on top for good when he stuffed in a rebound at the near post side of the goal with 36:50 remaining in the opening half.

In the 40th minute of play, Jason Kayne (Deerfield, Ill.) delivered a nice through ball to Brown that resulted in a Jumbo score to make it a 3-1 game.

The Camels out-shot Tufts 5-to-3 in the second half and had an opportunity to close the gap when Colin Patch (Providence, R.I.) nearly buried a header in the closing moments of action.

But Tufts keeper Scott Greenwood (Weymouth, Mass.) was able to cover the post with the save, his fifth of the contest to close out the victory for the visitors.

Austin DaCunha (Brookfield, Conn.) made one save in the opening half of action. Daniel Cui (Foster City, Calif.) played the closing 49:30 of regulation for the Camels.

The Camels held an 11-to-7 edge on the shot chart while enjoying a 7-to-5 advantage on corner kicks.
