Coaches Versus Cancer Tip-Off-Framingham State, Anna Maria Advance to Sunday's Championship Game

Pavlin Registers Double-Double with 13 Points & 13 Rebounds for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College is hosting the Coaches Versus Cancer Tip-Off in Luce Field House this weekend.

Framingham State University withstood a second half comeback to hold off the Camels in a 60-55 victory. In the night-cap of the doubleheader, the Amcats from Anna Maria College held off the University of Southern Maine to pull out an 86-83 triumph.

Connecticut College will meet Southern Maine in the third place game at 2 p.m. Sunday. Framingham and Anna Maria will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. in the Championship game.

Sophomore Daniel Gould (Quincy, Mass.) poured in a game-high 22 points to lead Framingham to its victory. Gould was 5-for-11 from long distance.  Junior guard Joe McCabe (Canton, Mass.) chipped in with eight points, four rebounds and three assists. Patrick Gould (Quincy, Mass.) contributed seven points for the Rams.

Connecticut College sophomore Zuri Pavlin (New York, N.Y.) registered a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman forward Isaiah Robinson (Lynn, Mass.) converted 6-of-11 field goals in his collegiate debut to finish with 12 points and four rebounds.  Junior captain Bo McKinley (Westport, N.Y.) reached double-digits with 10 points.

"We have a lot of new guys and it showed tonight," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "We didn't consistently generate great shots and when we did we didn't always look comfortable with finishing them."

Anna Maria and Southern Maine knocked down 19 triples together in what turned into a shootout in the second game of the night.

Junior guard Pat Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) exploded with a game-high 24 points for the Amcats, knocking down 6-of-8 shots from long distance.  Yousef Fodaile (Worcester, Mass.) dumped in 14 points for the winning sided. Trevon Farley (Lawrence, Mass.) and Tyler Delorey (Worcester, Mass.) both finished with 10.

The Huskies received 22 points each from Zach Leal (York, Maine) and Sean Caddigan (Bethel, Maine).  Leal was 10-for-17 from the field and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds in the loss.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program unites the American Cancer Society with our coaches in the fight against cancer. Donations made at this weekend's games will go directly to the lifesaving efforts of the American Cancer Society to fund research, provide free programs for people with cancer and their caregivers, advocate for better cancer screenings and treatment, and provide education and information for all those who seek it.
