Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.--The Methodist University men's basketball team secured a 76-59 victory against Connecticut College in a non-conference game played at the Riddle Center Tuesday afternoon.
The Monarchs improve their record to 3-6 with the triumph while the Camels fell to 5-4.
"Congratulations to Methodist," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "We showed a lot of rust after the break but that's no excuse because they had a break too. We are eager for practice tomorrow so we can get back to work."
Juniors Tabias Hilliard (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and Brandon Monk (Jacksonville, N.C.) scored 14 points each to lead the hosts to the victory.
Hilliard finished with four assists and was 3-for-6 from long distance while Monk hauled in six rebounds in a 7-for-10 shooting performance.
Senior guard T.J. Gill (Hope Mills, N.C.) and Mike Major (Fayetteville, N.C.) chipped in with 11 points each for the winning side.
Connecticut College sophomore Zuri Pavlin (New York, N.Y.) poured in a game-high 16 points to go with eight rebounds for the Camels. Pavlin connected on 7-of-11 shots from the floor while collecting five of his eight boards at the offensive end of the floor.
Freshman Isaiah Robinson (Lynn, Mass.) chipped in with nine points, nine rebounds and four assists for the Camels. Alex Tonhazy (New York, N.Y.) contributed eight points in 20 minutes off the bench, converting 2-of-3 shots from long distance.
Sean McNally (Hanover, Mass.) finished with five points in eight minutes of action and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the field and 1-for-1 from beyond the arch.
The Camels will visit William Peace University Thursday for a 1:00 p.m. game against the Pacers on New Year's Day.
