Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.—Connecticut College freshman Liz Malman (Mendham, N.J.) and sophomore Willa McKinley (Westport, N.Y.) poured in 15 points each to lead the Camels to a 67-54 victory against a talented Hamilton College squad in the regular season finale for both squads.
The Camels improve their record to 14-10 with a 6-4 record in the NESCAC, while the Continentals fall to 11-12 with a 4-6 mark in league play. Both teams will compete in the upcoming 2014 NESCAC Championship Tournament that will commence with quarterfinal match ups next Saturday.
Malman was 6-for-9 from the field and 3-for-5 from long distance. She added five rebounds in 26 minutes of action. McKinley was 6-for-12 from the field and also finished with five boards for the winning side.
Jenna Lovett (Tolland, Conn.) connected on 9-of-10 shots from the foul line and was 2-for-2 from the field and finished with 13 points and six rebounds in 14 minutes of action off of the bench.
Senior Tara Gabelman (Irvington, N.Y.) posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Camels.
Hamilton College senior Dani Feigin (Scarsdale, N.Y.) scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed four rebounds, shooting 6-for-13 from beyond the arc. Samantha Graber (Roseland, N.J.) chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Continentals.
Theresa Salud (Morganville, N.J.) added six points in nine minutes of action for Hamilton.
The Camels shot 12-for-15 from the foul line (80%) and held a 41-to-36 edge on the backboards.
Hamilton kept it close with its three-point shooting, connecting on 11-of-26 shots from long distance.
