Spencer Nets Six Goals in Season-Opening Doubleheader for Camels

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Connecticut College men's water polo team opened its season with a pair of matches played at the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University Sunday.

The Camels dropped a competitive 17-11 to the Harvard Crimson and fell to Brown University Bears in a 16-8 final.

Senior All-American Robert Spencer (Chevy Chase, Md.) erupted with six goals to lead the Camels in the season-opening doubleheader.  Carlos Heros (Miami, Fla.) chipped in with four scores for the Camels.  Freshman Dylan Pinckert (Long Beach, Calif.) had a hat-trick in his collegiate debut.

Junior William Bogle (Weston, Mass.), Stephan Cress (Rockford, Mich.), Daniel Seo (Lakewood, Calif.), Henry McMillan (New York, N.Y.), and Isaih Porter (La Jolla, Calif.) chipped in with scores for head coach Matt Anderson's Camels.

Junior net-minder Daniel Albers (Aloha, Or.) turned aside 11 shots in the Harvard match and followed that up with a nine-save performance against Brown.

Matthew Wagman (Needham, Mass.) collected one save in relief duty against Harvard.

This was one of the Camels' closer matches against Harvard in recent years. The Crimson carried a slim 5-4 lead after one quarter and the Camels were still hanging around at the half, trailing by a 9-6 score.
