Camels Top Anna Maria & Daniel Webster Martin Contributes 19 Kills & 22 Digs in Saturday's Action for Camels

PAXTON, Mass.—The Connecticut College volleyball team finished 2-0 in tri-match action on Saturday, downing Daniel Webster and Anna Maria in straight sets. Anna Maria picked up a win against Daniel Webster in the opener of today's non-conference volleyball action.

Connecticut College improves to 6-4 with the wins, Anna Maria remains even at 7-7 with a 1-1 day, while Daniel Webster falls to 3-11 with back-to-back losses.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 3, DANIEL WEBSTER 0

Senior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) posted a match-high 11 kills to lead the Camels to a 3-0 win in the middle match. The Camels won by scores of 25-21, 25-10, and 25-27.

In addition to Martin, the Camels saw seven kills from Alex McDevitt (Medfield, Mass.). The Camels held a balanced effort on defense, as nine different players recorded at least one dig, led by Belinda Mullally (Garden Grove, Calif.) and Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) with nine apiece.

Connecticut College held Daniel Webster to a negative hitting percentage, while hitting at .224 on their own side of the net. Daniel Webster had three different players post a team-best three kills.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 3, ANNA MARIA 0

McDevitt, Martin, and Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) combined for 26 of Conn. College's 44 kills in their 3-0 victory against Anna Maria in the nightcap. Set scores were 25-13, 25-16, and 25-14.

Anna Maria's offense was stunned by a strong Camel defense—Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.) totaled a team-best seven kills for the AMCATS, while the Camels popped up 54 digs, led by Martin with 14.

Caroline Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) aided the AMCAT defense with 18 kills, while senior setter Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) finished with 10 digs and 19 assists.
