Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.—The Connecticut College men's basketball team cruised to 73-51 victory against Framingham State University at Luce Field House Tuesday night.
The Camels improved their record to 11-5 with the victory while the Rams fell to 4-12 with the setback.
Freshman David Labossiere (Stoneham. Mass.) had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Camels in the win, connecting on 5-of-7 shots from the field. Sophomore Isaiah Robinson (Lynn, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points and five boards, shooting 5-for-7 from the floor. Tyler Rowe (East Hartford, Conn.) contributed with 10 points and two assists.
Senior Bo McKinley (pictured, Westport, N.Y.), Zuri Pavlin (New York, N.Y.) and Brandon Carson (Glenmoore, Pa.) all finished with eight points for the winning side. Pavlin added a game-high nine rebounds for the Camels.
"Our team did a good job tonight," Connecticut College Head Coach Tom Satran said. "We moved the ball well and were able to defend and rebound well against a very patient, methodical, disciplined team."
Framingham State senior guard Timothy McCarthy (Wilmington, Mass.) poured in a game-high 14 points to go with four assists in the loss. Joe McCabe (Canton, Mass.) and Tony Alexandre (Hyde Park, Mass.) finished with nine points each for the Rams.
Connecticut College held a decisive 46-to-31 advantage on the backboards and shot 76% (19-for-25) at the foul line.
The Camels used a 6-0 run early in the half to take control of the contest. Pavlin knocked down a 17-footer with 14:40 remaining to make it a 14-7 game before Robinson capped the rally with a nifty looking half hook in the paint on a nice feed from Colin Pascoe (Somers, Conn.) that vaulted the Camels out to a 16-7 lead with 13:26 to go.
The Camels ended the half with mini 5-0 run. Sean McNally (Hanover, Mass.) dialed long distance with his 18th trey of the season to make it a 38-28 game with 1:29 left and Rowe closed out the first stanza with a pair of freebies on the line that put the Camels in control with a 40-28 advantage at the intermission.
Connecticut College scored the first seven points of the second half to break the game open. Rowe buried a jumper in transition and McKinley followed with a three-ball before Daniel Janel (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) closed out the scoring surge with two free throws at the 16:05 mark and the Camels enjoyed a 47-28 lead.
Connecticut College continued to pull away and when Labossiere buried another Camel triple with 7:54 to play, the lead was 64-39. The Camels were easily able to hold on for the 73-51 win.
