NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomore Augie Djerdjaj (Mahopac, N.Y.) was among four different Camels to net a goal and seven to factor into scoring plays as the No. 15 Connecticut College men's soccer team earned a convincing 4-0 victory over Rhode Island College on Tuesday afternoon at Silfen Field.

Djerdjaj put the Camels ahead in the 12th minute by taking a feed in the right corner of the box from junior Justin Miranda (Winchester, Mass.) and finishing with a shot to the opposite corner of the net in the 12th minute. Junior Liam Donelan (Milton, Mass.) then converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute, and the Camels carried a 2-0 lead into the recess. The back line, meanwhile, only allowed the Anchormen to attempt one shot and one corner kick during opening 45 minutes of action.

Connecticut College continued to dominate in the second half and added two more goals to seal the outcome. Junior Liam Noonan (Malibu, Calif.) punched home a cross from the right side that came off the foot of classmate Ben Ludwick (Boxborough, Mass.), and senior Manny Balbontin (New York, N.Y.) netted his second goal of the year after receiving a pass from Steve Yeonas, who drove down the left side, and sending home a rocket from the top of the box.

Juniors AJ Marcucci (West Chester, Pa.) and Chris MacKay (Riverside, Calif.) combined for the shutout without receiving much action, as the Camels outshot their opponent by an 18-1 margin. Marcucci picked up the win. Charlie Tashjian of Rhode Island College suffered the loss by only managing to make three saves.

Connecticut College (8-3-2) will remain at home for at least the remainder of the regular season and next host Hamilton on Saturday at 2 p.m. The program will also recognize its five-member senior class prior to the contest.
