Women's Ice Hockey Powers Its Way Past Trinity

Box Score

HARTFORD, Conn. – Junior Erin Dillon (Hazlet, N.J.) scored twice to propel the Connecticut College women's ice hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Trinity on Friday evening at Williams Rink. The Camels scored three times on the power play to earn their first win of the season.

After a scoreless first period and nine penalties between the two teams, Connecticut College got on the board at the 12:31 mark of the second when senior Kylie Wilkes finished passes from senior Lauren Helm (Frisco, Texas) and junior Mairi Anthony (Stoneham, Mass.). Dillon then doubled the margin just 1:26 later shortly after another Bantam was whistled off the ice, and she would score again 50 seconds into the third with assists coming from Wilkes and Anthony to seal the outcome.

Sophomore Carly Denora (Verona, N.J.) of Connecticut College turned away 28 shots, including six in the final minute, to preserve the shutout win. Kai-Lilly Karpman of Trinity (2-2, NESCAC 0-1) ended the game with 25 saves.

Connecticut College (1-3, NESCAC 1-2) and Trinity will face off again at Dayton Arena to complete a home-and-home series tomorrow evening.
