BRUNSWICK, Maine – Sophomore Kaaren Liston (Houghton, Mich.) scored an equalizing tally in the last minute of the final period as the Connecticut College women's ice hockey team played Bowdoin to a 1-1 tie on Saturday afternoon.

Brett Stoddard opened the scoring for Bowdoin (5-6-3, NESCAC 3-4-1) at the midway point of the first period. She stole the puck from a Camel along the left boards and skated to take a wrist shot from the right circle that went over the shoulder of sophomore netminder Carly Denora (Verona, N.J.) to put the Polar Bears ahead at 11:51.

Both teams had opportunities to score in the second frame. The Camels had a 3-on-1 breakaway broken up by JJ Taube, while the Polar Bears nearly doubled their lead when Izzi Stoddard had a shorthanded breakaway opportunity that was turned aside by Denora.

The Camels forced overtime after pulling their goalie for an extra skater with 57 seconds left. Sophomore Samantha Hunt (Savage, Minn.) fired a shot in from the right point which was redirected away by Polar Bear goalie Dani Marquez, and senior Kylie Wilkes (Howell, N.J.) collected the rebound before finding Liston in the high slot for the equalizer as well as her first marker as a collegian. The visitors were able to settle for the hard-fought tie after killing off a power play in overtime.

Denora turned away 24 shots for Connecticut College, while Bowdoin's Marquez made 22 saves.

Connecticut College (9-5-1, NESCAC 3-4-1) will wrap up a three-game road swing when it visits Wesleyan on Friday at 7 p.m.
