NEW LONDON, Conn. – Led by junior
Julien Legros (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), the Connecticut College men's swimming & diving team started off its season with a 183-111 dual meet win against Middlebury at Lott Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Legros won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 21.72 and 47.83 seconds, respectively. He was also a member of both winning relays, anchoring the 200 medley relay that finished in 1:36.24 and swimming the third leg for the 200 free relay which touched the wall in 1:27.86.
Other notable performances were made by senior
Josh Franco (Weston, Conn.) and junior
Kai Listgarten (San Mateo, Calif.). Franco swept the distance freestyle events by clocking in marks of 4:55.72 and 10:05.53 in the 500 and 1,000, respectively, and his 1,000 time was more than 11 seconds faster than the nearest finisher. Matthew Laclef (Bethesda, Md.) and junior
Sean Geisler (New Paltz, N.Y.) were all double winners as well.
Connecticut College (1-0) will next trek to Wesleyan to compete in the Connecticut Cup on Saturday, Dec. 4.
