Men’s Tennis Comes Up Short Against No. 37 Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped its second NESCAC match of the season against Colby this Saturday by a 9-0 decision. 
 
After the Mules captured the doubles matches to take the lead, there were a series of close singles matches to close out the afternoon. The Camels got notable performances from junior Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.) at the No. 1 spot, sophomore Aaron Fleishman (Brookline, Mass.) at the No. 4 spot, and senior Walter Komishane (Manchester, Mass.) at the No. 6 spot.
 
Tien fell to his opponent, Colby sophomore Jan Wenger, in a three set match by scores of 6-0, 1-6, and 10-7 in the closest competition of the day. Fleishman also fought hard, but fell to his opponent, junior Max Schuermann, by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Komishane made a notable effort in his match against his opponent, senior Garrett Reiter as well, but was bested by scores of 6-0 and 7-5.
 
Connecticut College (0-2, NESCAC 0-1) is slated to host Bates next on Saturday, April 10th at a time to be determined.
