Men's Squash Splits With Vassar, Haverford

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Connecticut College men's squash team split of pair of matchups against Vassar and Haverford on Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Camels easily dispatched the host team Vassar 9-0 but suffered a 7-2 setback later in the afternoon to Haverford.

Conn started the day on a high note, dominating the Brewers from top to bottom. Senior Tyler Maguire (Middletown, R.I.), junior Samuel Lovejoy (Branford, Conn.), sophomore Tim First (Concord, Mass.), and first years Noah Fish (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.), Henry Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) and Peter Russell (Lancaster, Pa.) picked up straight-set victories for Conn. The Camels only dropped a combined three sets in the entirety of the match.

In the second match of the afternoon, Conn fell to Haverford 6-3. Maguire picked up his second win of the afternoon in the No. 2 position. Fish pulled off a dramatic victory in the No. 5 spot. After falling behind two sets to one, the first year stormed back to win the final two frames.

Lovejoy narrowly dropped a five-set decision in the No. 1 position in a match that lasted over one hour.

Connecticut College (1-2) will be back in action against Colby on Saturday, December 3.
