PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Connecticut College wrapped up the 2022 men's water polo season with a pair of losses in the consolation round of the Northeast Water Polo Conference Championship on Saturday at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.

The seventh-seeded Camels opened the day with a 21-9 loss to fifth-seeded Iona University. Later in the day, Conn dropped a 19-7 final against sixth-seeded Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Camels finished the season with an overall record of 3-16.

Game 1 – Iona 21, Conn College 9

The Camels fell behind 3-0 early but fought back to make it 4-2 thanks to scores by Christian Jacobsen (North Palm Beach, Fla.) and Siaki Nelson (Montgomery, Texas). However, Iona outscored Conn 9-2 the rest of the half, and a 4-0 third quarter put the Gaels comfortably in front.

Jacobsen finished with a game-high five goals to pace the Conn offense, and Sam Guy (Portland, Ore.) also netted a hat trick. All three Conn goalies saw action, with Sebastian Parilov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) leading the group with four saves.

Game 2 – MIT 19, Conn College 7

MIT went up 3-0 in the first quarter and added three goals in the final 1:33 of the period to lead 6-2 after one. Carson Neidert (West Palm Beach, Fla.) netted both of Conn's goals in the stanza en route to a hat trick in the first half.

The Camels trailed 9-4 at intermission and got goals from Jack Haddad (Springfield, Mass.), Nelson and Guy in the second half. The Engineers also kept Parilov busy in goal, as the rookie finished with 13 saves in the contest.
