Men's, Women's Cross Country Compete At CT D3 Challenge

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Connecticut Division III Challenge at Stenger Farms on Saturday morning.

Both the men's and the women's squads won their respective events, featuring in-state schools Trinity and Mitchell.

On the women's side, the Camels swept the top-10, and five first years made up the top-five runners of the 5k event. Katherine Keating (Dorcester, Mass.) was the overall winner, finishing in 20:37. Caitlin Bird (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished as the runner-up, crossing the line in 20:54. Rounding out the top-five were Charlotte Houghton (Erwinna, Pa.), Olivia Ferraro (Cheshire, Conn.) and Annika Hegde (New York, N.Y.).

The men's squad also put on a dominant performance, grabbing the top-seven slots of the 5k race. Sophomore Blake Rogers (Riverside, R.I.) was the top performer recording a time of 16:21. Senior Max Notarnicola (Millwood, N.Y.) placed second overall, clocking in at 16:36. Robert DiNatale (Cheshire, Conn.) finished third, followed by Lucas Vazquez (Ewing, N.Y.) and Sam Walker (Newburyport, Mass.). 

Connecticut College will be back in action on Saturday, November 12 for the NCAA Mideast Regional in Canton, N.Y.
