NEW LONDON, Conn. Symonne Scott has been named the associate head coach of the Connecticut College men's and women's cross country and track & field programs, as announced by Director of Athletics Mo White.

Scott, a 2010 graduate of Moravian College, was an eight-time NCAA All-American in track & field. She is a USATF level 1 certified coach and has over 18 years of experience in the sport.

Prior to her appointment at Conn, Scott served as the cross country and track & field head coach at both Bellingham High School and Blackstone-Millville Regional High School. Scott oversaw the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school programs at both schools.

During her tenure at the high school level, Scott coached over 70 champions, medalists and qualifiers at the conference, district, state and regional levels.

Scott is also the owner and coach of Azimuth Athletics, a private and group training enterprise designed to help athletes achieve optimal athletic and mental performance.

Connecticut College men's and women's cross country and track & field head coach Ned Bishop expressed his enthusiasm for what Scott brings to the program.

"I am truly excited to have Symonne Scott joining our track & field staff. She will oversee the coaching of all our speed and power athletes as we build upon an already strong foundation," Bishop said. "Coach Scott has extensive experience with all of the sprints, jumps and hurdles, and she brings an infectious energy to our program."
