CLINTON, N.Y. - The Connecticut College women's squash program dropped both of its consolation matches at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday morning. The Camels lost a close 5-4 battle with Colby, before falling to Wesleyan 9-0.
Lili Vazquez (Chicago, Ill.),
Birgitta Salvesen-Quinn (Cambridge, Mass.),
Johanile Hurtado (New Haven, Conn.) and
Caroline Champa all earned victories against the Mules. Colby was able to get straight-set wins in the other five matches to seal the 5-4 decision.
Later in the morning, the Camels played Wesleyan in their final match of the NESCAC Championships. Although the Cardinals won 9-0, the Camels received strong efforts from Salvesen-Quinn and
Rachel Matamoros (New Haven, Conn.). Each lost extremely tight, five-set decisions in the six spot and one spot respectively.
Connecticut College (4-11)Â will compete at CSA Nationals later in February.Â
