HARTFORD, Conn. - The Connecticut College women's ice hockey team fell to Trinity 2-1 on the road on Tuesday night.

With the regular season winding down, both teams entered the game with hopes of moving up in the conference standings. The Camels (7-13-2, 3-11-0 NESCAC) came into the contest in an offensive drought during their four-game losing streak, scoring only a single goal during that span.

Despite outshooting the Bantams 12-9 in the first period, Conn could not find the back of the net. During a Camels' power play, shot opportunities by Caroline O'Keefe (Winthrop, Mass.) and Kiley Smith (Marion, Mass.) were turned away by Bantams' goaltender Hannah Leclair. Both teams killed off power play chances and the first period ended at a scoreless tie.

Trinity put one on the board early in the second when Paige Kehoe found teammate Martina Exnerova who finished with a smooth backhander past goalkeeper Carly Denora (Verona, N.J.).

After a hooking penalty on the Bantams at 14:51, the visitors began their second power play of the game. Senior Kaaren Liston (Houghton, Mich.) capitalized on the advantage, tying the game at 1-1 off assists from Natalie Witkowski (Cheshire, Conn.) and Melissa Alexander (Bellingham, Mass.).

Midway through the final frame, the Bantams broke through once again. Exnerova stole the puck behind the net in the Camels' defensive zone. After a series of point-blank shots were saved by Denora, Exnerova was able to push one through for her second goal of the game. The 2-1 lead would hold for the remainder of the contest giving Trinity (9-11-1, 5-9-0 NESCAC) their fifth NESCAC win of the season.

Leclair stopped 21 shots in goal for the hosts, while Denora made 15 saves for Connecticut College.

With just two regular season games remaining, the Camels will return to Dayton Arena for back-to-back contests with Hamilton, beginning on Friday.
