NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Connecticut College women's tennis team swept singles competition en route to an 8-1 victory over Wheaton College on Thursday evening. The Camels picked up the win in their final non-conference matchup before beginning NESCAC play this weekend.
One day removed from a close loss to Springfield College, the women's squad bounced back for a crucial decision.Â
The duos of
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Alexis Tsang (Wellesley Hills, Mass.), and
Allison Falvey (Wakefield, Mass.) and
Brooke Scully (Winchester, Mass.) led the Camels at the No. 1 and 2 doubles positions respectively to get the home team off to a hot start.
All four followed up with wins in singles matches in straight-sets. Also picking up victories for the Camels were sophomores
Ella Griffiths (Concord, Mass.) and
Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.).
Connecticut College will travel to Amherst for its conference opener on Saturday.Â
