The Connecticut College women's tennis team dropped a pair of road matchups in the opening weekend of conference play. The Camels were blanked by nationally-ranked Amherst on Saturday and were topped by Hamilton a day later.

The No. 8 ranked Mammoths gave the Camels all they could handle, taking every match in straight-sets. Senior Brooke Scully (Winchester, Mass.) battled at the No. 4 singles position, but ultimately was defeated 6-1, 6-3.

On Sunday, Hamilton defeated Connecticut College (2-7, 0-2 NESCAC) 9-0 at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. Once again, Scully put forth an outstanding effort, but came up just short. After taking the first set 6-1, the senior dropped the second frame 6-0. In the third-set tiebreaker, Scully lost 11-9. Classmate Alexis Tsang (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) performed well at the No. 2 position, but ultimately fell 6-2, 7-5.

Connecticut College will host its first home conference matchup of the season against Bates on Saturday, April 2.
