HADLEY, Mass. - After an outstanding weekend at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Hamilton College, Connecticut College women's track & field sprinter Malissa Lindsey (Chicago, Ill.) earned two major accolades recognizing her achievements.

The junior was awarded the Sabasteanski Award for being the Most Outstanding Performer at the NESCAC Championship last Saturday. At the event, Lindsey anchored the first-place 4x100 relay, and won both the 100 and 200-meter runs breaking three school record in the process. Lindsey's times in the individual events are currently the fastest in Division III this season. This marks the first time that any Connecticut College women's track & field athlete has won the Sabasteanski Award.

Additionally, the United States Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Lindsey as its Division III National Athlete of the Week. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from Connecticut College has been named National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season.

Lindsey and qualifying Connecticut College track & field athletes will next compete at the Division III New England Championships at Williams College, beginning on Thursday, May 5.
