Men's, Women's Squash Fall To Hamilton On Senior Day

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's and women's squash teams fell to Hamilton on Sunday afternoon at Luce Field House. The men's squad was topped 8-1, while the women were blanked 9-0.

Prior to the match, the Camels honored six seniors for their contributions to the squash programs over the past four years. Tanya Mendoza (Bronx, N.Y.), Leslie Gonzalez (New York, N.Y.), Angela Cao (Boston, Mass.), Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.), Juan Hurtado (New Haven, Conn.), Tyler Maguire (Middletown, R.I.) were recognized in the pre-match ceremony. 

In the women's match, the Continentals swept the Camels at all nine slots. At the No. 1 position, Rachel Matamoros (New Haven, Conn.) narrowly was defeated, falling in five sets.

First year Henry Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) won the lone match for the men's squad in the No. 3 position. After dropping the first two sets, Pelletier stormed back to win the final three frames 11-5, 11-4, 11-9.

Connecticut College will be back in action on Wednesday, February 1 in the final home match of the season. Action begins at 6 p.m.
