Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's basketball team dropped a 61-48 decision to Skidmore College in the opening round of the Trinity Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night at Oosting Gymnasium.
Rebecca Oberman-Levine (Hamden, Conn.) paced the Camels with a game-high 20 points and added five rebounds.
Catherine Cole (Lebanon, N.H.) also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Conn shot just 2-for-9 in the opening period and trailed 14-5 at the end of the stanza. Things picked up for the Camels on the offensive end in the second quarter, but they trailed the Thoroughbreds by a 29-18 tally at the break.
Skidmore used a 10-2 start in the second half to push its lead to 19. Cassie Davidson exploded for 13 points in the quarter, and the Thoroughbreds took a 54-29 advantage into the final period.
Conn rebounded with a 10-0 run and outscored Skidmore 19-7 in the fourth, but the deficit was too much to make up. The Camels finished the night shooting 38 percent from the floor but went 4-for-17 from long range.
Andi Levitz led Skidmore with 20 points on 7-for-9 shooting while Davidson finished with 15 points.
Conn (0-2 overall) will face Albertus Magnus College in the consolation matchup of the Trinity Tip-Off on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
