MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Connecticut College women's squash team's two game win streak came to a close on Wednesday night, as the Camels fell to host Wesleyan 9-0 in Middletown. With the loss, Conn falls to 2-3 on the year.
Wesleyan was strong, taking six of the nine matches in straight sets. Rachel Matamoros (New Haven, Conn.) battled hard in first singles, ultimately falling 11-7, 13-11, 10-12, 11-2 to Avika Pande. Mariam Anwar (Fairfield, Conn.) did her best in second singles, also picking up a set, but falling 3-1, while Izzy Schumacher (Braircliff Manor, N.Y.) claimed the first set, before dropping the match 3-1.
Conn (2-3) stays on the road, heading to Tufts University to take on the Jumbos on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. in Medford, Mass.
