Women's Basketball Falls at Division I Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's basketball team took on Division I Holy Cross on Thursday evening at the Hart Center, falling by a final score of 80-39 in non-conference action.

Rebecca Oberman-Levine (Hamden, Conn.) and Avery Burns (Orleans, Mass.) paced the Camels with eight points apiece. Oberman-Levine also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in 26 minutes of work.

Lindsay Berger and Meg Cahalan each scored 17 points to lead Holy Cross, which evened its record to 4-4 on the season. The Crusaders shot 48 percent as a team and forced 18 turnovers on the defensive end.

Playing for the second time in less than 24 hours, the Camels came out of the blocks slowly. Holy Cross took advantage and netted the first eight points of the game, opening up a 21-7 advantage after the first period. Cahalan took over in the second quarter, piling up eight points as the Crusaders pumped the margin to 40-16 by intermission.

Holy Cross continued to pour it on in the second half and had 11 players find the scoring column. Burns scored all eight of her points after the break to lead the Camels. Both Burns and Hallie O'Toole (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished the night with a pair of three-pointers.

Thursday's game marked the third meeting between the two programs since 2021. The Camels have now faced a pair of Division I programs this season, with the other meeting coming against Army on November 22.

Conn (3-7 overall) will next host Mount Holyoke College on Saturday, December 9 at noon.
