2/25/2023 7:53:00 PM

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's squash team won a pair of matchups on the second day of the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Playing out of the Conroy Cup division, the Camels blanked Bard 8-0 in the morning, before defeating Denison 6-3 later in the day.

Against the Raptors, Conn won seven of the eight matchups in straight sets. This was the second time this season that the Camels have defeated Bard.

In the second matchup of the day, Conn had a competitive event against Denison.

Playing out of the No. 3 position, first year Henry Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) won a five-set battle against Ibrahim Bekhiet. After splitting the first four sets, Pelletier gutted out the fifth set, downing Bekhiet 11-9.

The bottom half of the Camels rotation was a key factor in the victory. Noah Fish (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.), Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.), Alex Lorenzo-Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.), and Peter Russell (Lancaster, Pa.) all picked up straight-set wins to propel the Camels to their second victory of the day.

Double winners on the day were Pelletier, Lorenzo-Cruz, and Russell.

Connecticut College will wrap up play at the CSA Championships tomorrow against Haverford at 10 a.m.
