BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Three Connecticut College athletes competed on day one of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmington, Alabama.
Seniors
Matt Carter (Manchester, Mass.) and
Jeffrey Love (Union, N.J.) raced in the 5k. Carter just missed out on earning All-American status by finishing 10th in the event. The senior crossed the line in 14:25.15. Love did not finish the race, but will compete in the 3k tomorrow.
Junior
Chris Koskinen (Yarmouth, Maine) participated in the pole vault. After clearing a height of 4.55 meters on his second attempt, Koskinen failed to vault over the 4.70 meter mark. The junior ended his outstanding indoor campaign after setting the school record in the event earlier in the season.
Love will compete in the 3k on Saturday at 4:40 p.m. CT to conclude national competition for the Camels. All three competitors will be back to participate in the spring season, which will begin later in March.
