Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring season, besting the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor by a 6-3 final on Tuesday afternoon at Sanlando Park.
The Camels took only one match in doubles play but made up for it by winning five of six singles contests.
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) earned victories in both singles and doubles to lead the way for Conn, which improved to 2-2 on the season.
The Camels won in straight sets at No. 1, 2 and 5 singles thanks to strong efforts by
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine),
Sana Bhat (New Delhi) and
Anna Slopak (Taftville, Conn.), respectively. Both Kerachsky and
Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) split their first two sets before prevailing in a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third set.
In doubles action, Kerachsky teamed with
Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) to win by an 8-4 final at No. 2. It marked the duo's first win of the season.
Conn College will next face SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m.
