Box Score NORTON, Mass. -- The Connecticut College women's tennis team triumphed over Wheaton 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon on the road. The victory marks the fourth straight win for the Camels following a 3-0 performance last week in Florida.
The visitors dominated in both doubles and singles competition against the Lyons. After sweeping the action in doubles matches, the Camels won five-of-six in singles play.
First year
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) was fantastic playing out of the No. 4 singles slot. The first year blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 for the rare double bagel. In the No. 6 singles position,
Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) also found similar success, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Two of the top three singles matchups were highly contested throughout the first set.
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) both grinded out 7-5 victories in the opening set against their respective opponents. Similarly, the duo of Camels each won the second set resulting in straight-set triumphs.
Connecticut College (5-2 overall) will try for its fifth straight team victory tomorrow on the road against Mount Holyoke.
