WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Connecticut College men's rowing team competed at the 2023 National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) on a beautiful Friday at Lake Quinsigamond.

The Camels put one varsity eight boat in the water and raced the 2,000-meter course twice on the day. In the morning heat, Conn posted a time of 7:04.23 and qualified for the third level final. With better rowing conditions present for the afternoon final, the Camels bettered their time (6:48.669) but finished fifth out of five boats.

The event also doubled as the setting for the 2023 NESCAC Championship, with the league champion being determined from the results of the first varsity competition. Williams claimed overall gold in the 1V8 grand final to earn the conference title and the league's automatic NCAA bid.
