LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the 2023 Blatant Lacrosse Division III All-Americans on Wednesday afternoon, and a pair of Connecticut College men's lacrosse players garnered honorable mention status.
Senior
Jared Rainville (Watertown, Conn.) and junior
Will Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) earned laurels at attack and goalie, respectively. Both received the distinction for the first time in their careers.
Rainville started all 14 games and led the Camels in scoring with 32 goals and 26 assists for a career-high 58 points. He tallied a goal in every game and recorded 10 or more points in four contests, and he ranked 10th in the NESCAC in points per game (4.14). He finished his career with 89 goals and 65 assists for 154 points in 37 games.
Rice, an All-NESCAC second team honoree, started all 14 games and played nearly every minute in goal for the Camels. He posted an overall record of 6-8 and tallied 185 saves, including a career-high 23 against Tufts University on April 8. In 10 league contests he ranked second in the NESCAC in saves per game (14.5) and third in both goals-against average (11.83) and save percentage (.560).
Conn College, which made its 15th NESCAC Championship appearance, finished the season with an overall record of 6-8 (4-6 NESCAC). The six victories were the most for the Camels since 2018.
