NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College has hired Phoebe Seifert as assistant coach of the field hockey program, as announced by head coach
Chrissy Chappell on Thursday.
Seifert joins the Camels after spending the last year as a teacher in the Norwich Public School System and as the strength and conditioning coach at Fitch High School in Groton, Conn.
"I am excited to welcome Phoebe to our Camel Field Hockey family," said Chappell. "Throughout the interview process I was impressed by her thoughtful answers, her confident demeanor, and her passion for the sport of field hockey. Phoebe's experience as a dual-sport athlete and team captain at Wheaton College has laid a solid foundation for her to build on as she begins her coaching career here at Connecticut College."
As the strength and conditioning coach at Fitch, Seifert ran summer fitness programs and skill work for the high school field hockey team, while also preparing athletes with well-coordinated schedules of practices and individual training sessions.
A native of Groton, Conn., Seifert was a dual-sport athlete as a member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams for all four years at Fitch. After high school, she continued as a dual-sport athlete for the Lyons of Wheaton College, where she was named captain of the field hockey team as a senior. She appeared in 28 career games, totaling four goals for the field hockey team.
Seifert graduated with a degree in sociology and religion from Wheaton in 2022.
