NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Connecticut College Invitational on Sunday.
With all action being forced indoors for the second straight day due to rain, contests were once again split between Conn College and Coast Guard. The second day of the round robin tournament was limited to doubles contests, with the Camels posting a combined record of 13-7 on the day against competition from Coast Guard, Springfield, Trinity and St. Michael's.
Conn had a total of seven doubles teams compete between the two sites. The squad of
James Serhant III (Hadley, Mass.) and
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) went undefeated on the day with a record of 4-0. The duos of
Jules Taylor-Kerman (New York, N.Y.) and
Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) and
Gavin Anderson (Avon, Conn.) and
Colby Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) also enjoyed strong outings, with both going 3-1 on the day.
Krishh Tipnis (Thane, India) teamed with both
Zachary Regelman (Weston, Mass.) and
Maximo Gulla (Madison, Conn.) for matches. Tipnis and Regelman went 1-1 with a win over Springfield while Tipnis and Gulla went 1-0 with a win over Trinity.
Andy Feldman (Newton, Mass.) also teamed with Gulla to go 1-0 with a win over Trinity.
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) and
Walker Mulligan (Guilford, Conn.) rounded out the pairings and went 1-3 overall with a win over Springfield.
Conn posted a head-to-head record of 28-12 over the two-day tournament.
The Camels will next compete at the ITA Regional Championship on Friday, September 29 at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
