Dorow Earns New England Division III Champs Qualification in 200 Meters at Coast Guard Winter Invite

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Connecticut College men's indoor track and field team opened up action in 2024, participating in the United States Coast Guard Academy Winter Invitational.

On the Track

55 Meters

  • Dylan Haime (Bronx, N.Y.) placed third with a time of 6.72

  • Luke Alban (Piedmont, Calif.) also finished with a time of 6.72.

  • Ty Dorow (Barrington, N.H.) earned a fourth place finish with a time of 6.74.

200 Meters

  • Dorow earned New England Division III Championships qualification, winning with a time of 23.25, which equates to a 22.55 on a standard track.

  • Haime also featured on the podium, collecting third place and a time of 23.92.

400 Meter

  • Graham Josephson (Hudson, Mass.) finished with a time of 55.03 to finish ninth

600 Meter

  • Noah Vernick (Belmont, Mass.) just missed the podium, claiming fourth with a time of 1:30.97

  • Wesley Schreiber (New York, N.Y.) finished seventh with a time of 1:33.72.

800M

  • Deem Quinn (Cranston, R.I.) earned a fourth place finish with a time of 2:07.45.

1000M

  • Anthony Belford (Bay Shore, N.Y.) got on the podium with a third place finish and a time of 2:47.97.

  • Kevin Lieue (Bellevue, Wash.) was fourth with a time of 2:48.11.

  • Charles Donahue (Hingham, Mass.) followed up with a fifth place finish and a time of 2:50.28.

  • Dax Arnold (New York, N.Y.) finished sixth with a time of 2:51.10.

Mile

  • Ethan Bush (Hanover, Mass.) earned the victory with a time of 4:30.44.

  • Chris Davis (Dunstable, Mass.) finished second at 4:33.28.

  • Zach Stoddard (Pomfret Center, Conn.) rounded out the all Conn podium with a time of 4:36.36.

  • Ronan Staab (White Plains, N.Y.) finished fourth with a time of 4:39.70.

55 Meter Hurdles

4x200 Relay

4x400 Relay

  • Arnold, Lieue, Vernick, and Quinn finished fourth with a time of 3:52.08.

Distance Medley

  • Belford, Schreiber, Lucas Vasquez (Ewing, N.Y.), and Robbie Lynch (Wellesley, Mass.) claimed victory with a time of 10:57.61, which currently ranks first in the New England region.

In the Field

High Jump

  • Apostolopoulos finished fifth, clearing a height of 1.70m.

  • Anders Larson (Concord, Mass.) finished tied for seventh after clearing 1.65m.

Long Jump

  • Josephson finished on the podium, claiming third place, jumping a distance of 5.97m.

  • Larson finished fifth jumping 5.90.

  • Apostolopoulos earned sixth place by jumping 5.88m.

Triple Jump

  • Firmin claimed second place, finishing with a jump of 12.64m.

  • Jackson Davis (New Canaan, Conn.) finished with a jump of 10.72m to claim sixth place.

Conn returns to action next weekend, on January 20th, as the Camels head to Medford, Mass. to participate in the Tufts Invitational.
