NEW LONDON, Conn.-- The Connecticut College men's squash team battled hard, coming up short against Bates College 5-4 on Friday evening from Luce Fieldhouse. With the loss, Conn falls to 6-9 on the season.
Conn started strong, picking up wins in the first three matches. Alex Moncada (Playa del Carmen, Mexico) and Hudson Dunn (Narragansett, R.I.) both won in straight sets, while Sam Lovejoy (Branford, Conn.) picked up a five-set win. Alex Lorenzo-Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up a straight set win, as the match was tied 4-4 with one to play. Noah Fish (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) took the first two sets in extra points, but came up short as the match went to five sets, ultimately falling 3-2.
Conn (6-9) heads back on the road, traveling to Clinton, N.Y. to take on Hamilton College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
