NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College senior David Murray (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) was one of five men's basketball players named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, as announced by the popular website on Tuesday morning.

The 2023-24 season marks the 27th season that D3hoops.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top players nationally at each position from the previous week. Murray averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 assists last week while leading the Camels to a pair of NESCAC wins.

Murray posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and totaled three blocks and four steals as Conn defeated fifth-ranked Tufts for the Camels' first win in Medford since 2011. The senior big man followed up with a career-high 30 points and added 12 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and a steal in a win at Bates. He shot 53 percent from the field for the week and raised his team-leading double-double tally to six.

Murray has started all 13 games this season and leads the Camels in scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.2 rpg). He leads the NESCAC in blocks (2.5 bpg) and ranks third in field goal percentage (.582), fourth in rebounding, sixth in scoring and ninth in steals (1.4 spg).

Murray becomes the fifth Conn College men's player—and the first since Matt Vadas in 2014—to earn D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors. He is also the second men's player from the NESCAC to be recognized this season (Shane Regan, Wesleyan).

Joining Murray on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week were: Jahn Hines, Sr., G, Christopher Newport; Donyae Baylor-Carroll, Sr., G, Penn State-Harrisburg; Tanner Brown, Sr., G/F, Trinity (Texas); and Christian Parker, Sr., F, Mount Union.

Conn (11-3 overall, 2-0 NESCAC) will next play at No. 6 Trinity College on Friday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m.
