WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's cross country team finished ninth out of 16 teams at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.
Conn's top runners, who raced at the Pre-National Invitational last weekend, did not compete for training purposes. The Camels were represented very well by those team members who did not race a week ago.
Leading the pack for the Camels was
Julia Coyle (Pomfret Center, Conn.), who crossed the finish line in 20th place. She covered the 6K course in 19:34.4.
Conn's next three finishers all cracked the 21-minute mark.
Phoebe Drohan (Holliston, Mass.) placed 41st in 20:26.8 while
Sarah Steudel (Westborough, Mass.) checked in at 55th in 20:45.1, and
Gabbie Mogavero (West Springfield, Mass.) logged a time of 20:50.8 to finish 58th.
Cleo Kilpatrick (Minneapolis, Minn.) rounded out the scoring for the Camels, finishing 66th with a time of 21:03.5.
Molly Donovan (Medfield, Mass.) was hot on her heels in 21:03.9, and
Olivia Ferraro (Cheshire, Conn.) completed Conn's top-7 in 21:19.8.
Williams College took home the team title with 44 points while Wesleyan University finished as runner-up (96 points). Williams' Grace Kaercher was the individual medalist with a time of 18:20.0
The Camels will next host the Conn College Invitational on Saturday, October 19 at Harkness Park.
