Men's Rowing Opens Season at Snake Regatta

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's rowing team opened the season at the Snake Regatta on Saturday morning at Lake Quinsigamond. 

The Camels put three boats in the water in their first outing of the fall, including two in the 4+ race and another in the 8+. Conn's 1V4 boat, coxed by Ben Levine (Greenwich, Conn.), posted a time of 17:07 and finished sixth out of the 13 teams in the field. Morgan Edenbach (North Conway, N.H.) piloted the 2V4 boat to a an eighth-place finish in 17:29. 

Samira Grossmann-Ferris (Portland, Ore.) coxed the 1V8 to an 18th-place finish with a time of 15:57. The Camels beat out six other squads, including the top boats from UMass and New Hampshire.

UMass took team honors in the 4+ while Holy Cross took the top spot in the 8+. The Minutemen won by 25 seconds in the 4+ (16:02) while the Crusaders edged MIT by seven seconds in the 8+ (13:43).

Conn College will next compete at the Head of the Charles on Sunday, October 20.
