WATERFORD, Conn. – The No. 25 Connecticut College women's cross country team finished sixth out of 24 teams at the 2024 NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday morning at Harkness Memorial State Park.

The Camels finished with 116 points—their best score ever at an NCAA regional—and had five runners earn all-region honors by virtue of a top-35 individual finish. Abby Fernald (Avon, Conn.) led the group and finished 13th overall, turning in a personal-best 6k time of 21:50.4.

Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.), Kiera Tallas (Fountain Valley, Calif.), Abby Williams (Waterville, Maine) and Alsacia Timmerman (Morrisville, Vt.) rounded out Conn's top-5. McDonough also broke the 22-minute threshold and finished 21st in 21:59.7. Tallas crossed in 24th at 22:09.3 while Williams was hot on her heels in 27th at 22:21.5, and Timmerman slotted into the final all-region spot in 22:37.1. The spread between the five runners was just 46 seconds.

The Camels produced five all-region runners for the second year in a row. Fernald, Williams and Timmerman earned the distinction for the second time in their careers while McDonough and Tallas were first-time honorees.

Addie Fuller (Eliot, Maine) and April Schilling (Amherst, Mass.) filled out Conn's top-7. Fuller finished 67th in 23:16.2 while Schilling placed 81st in 23:42.4.

Williams College won the team title with 59 points, but the next five places were separated by just six points. RPI finished as runner-up with 110 points followed by Amherst (110), Vassar (111), Middlebury (112) and Conn (116). RPI's Jules Bleskoski took individual medalist honors with a time of 20:47.3, finishing 10 seconds ahead of runner-up Haley Schoenegge of Vassar.

Conn is hoping to earn one of 22 at-large bids for 2024 NCAA DIII Championship on November 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. The 32-team field will be announced on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. on NCAA.com
