PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Connecticut College women's squash team split on day one of the 2024 CSA Teams Nationals, beating Vassar 9-0, before falling to Chatham 6-3. With the split, Conn moves to 9-9.

Conn opened the tournament strong, picking up victories in all seven matches that were played, while the Camels won the final two matches by default. Rachel Matamoros (New Haven, Conn.) picked up a win in four sets, 3-1,  Mariam Anwar (Fairfield, Conn.), Izzy Schumacher (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.), Gwyneth Perez (New Haven, Conn.), Miranda Medina (Houston, Texas), Crystal Dixon (Chicago, Ill.), and Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) all earned wins on the afternoon. With the win, Conn stayed in the championship bracket to take on Chatham University.

In the quarterfinal matchup against Chatham, Dixon, Medina, and Eva Ross (Washington, D.C.) all picked up straight wins. While Matamoros, Anwar, Hannah Preston (South Pasadena, Calif.), Ainsley Ellison (Westfield, N.J.), Schumacher, and Perez came up short in their matches.

Conn (9-9) returns to action tomorrow afternoon, as the Camels take on Denison in the 2nd consolation semifinals at 3:30 p.m.
