NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Graham Josephson (Stow, Mass.) set the new program record in the decathlon, leading the Connecticut College men's track and field team to a third place at the 2024 Silfen Invitational, finishing with 104 points.

Josephson and Chris Koskinen (Yarmouth, Maine) finished first and second as both earned NE D3 qualification.

Josephson set the new school record, compiling 5510 points across the 10 events. Josephson finished first in the 100m with a time of 11.34 and in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.43. Josephson finished second in the 400m with a time of 51.99, in the javelin with a distance of 48.74, and in the long jump with a distance of 6.10m. Josephson added a third place in the 1500m with a time of 4:49.51. He added a fifth place in the high jump clearing 1.63, with three seventh place finishes in the discus throw (25.20m), pole vault (48.74m), and in the shot put (9.60m)

Koskinen finished second overall with 5455 points. Koskinen picked up two first places, winning the pole vault clearing 4.65m and in the 400m with a time of 50.86, two second places in the 100m with a time of 11.57 and in the 1500m with a time of 4:48.85, and a third place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.63. Koskinen added a sixth place finish in the long jump (5.42m), seventh place in the high jump (1.60m), eighth place in the javelin (32.44m), ninth place in the shot put (8.94m), and 12th place in the discus throw (19.75m).
Conn heads back out on the road to take part in the Trinity Invitational on Saturday in Hartford, Conn.
